Institute of Law ( Birzeit University ) & Faculty of Law ( An Najah University )
The Faculty of Law was established in 1995. The faculty at that time was comprised of 117 students. The 1998-1999 academic year witnessed the graduation of the first law graduates. At present the faculty has 400 students.
The faculty aims to serve the local community, especially following the formation of the Palestine National Authority.
The faculty aspires to:
Provide the society with qualified staff to work in both the public and private sectors.
Meet the needs of the local society by spreading legal awareness and law education, especially with regard to the practice of basic rights and liberties.
Enhance research in the field of law.
4. Help in developing law systems that have prevailed in Palestine since the Ottoman period and throughout the Israeli occupation.
5. Offer an evening program. This program aims to address the needs of the local society that have increased following the formation of the Palestine National Authority.
The faculty provides qualified Palestinian staff. This will help reinforce the sovereignty of law in Palestine and give the university an opportunity to play a key role in educating Palestinian people.
